We were off to Quebec, but first, we stopped in Cornwall to visit my mom’s university friends Diego and Angela.

The last time they saw eachother was in 1997… so many decades ago, but they reconnected so easily. We enjoyed a nice schnitzel lunch and some ice cream too. Thank you Diego and Angela for treating us!

Around 6:30 PM, we were back on the road, heading to Montreal. The drive was breathtaking, with the trees turning bright pink and the sun glowing fiery red.

When we arrived at our hotel in Montreal, we took a walk to find some dinner.

Our plan for the day in Montreal was simple:
first, grab a bagel from St-Viateur,

walk around the city,

and enjoy a smoked meat sandwich from Schwartz’s.

The friendly waiter, Giuseppe, seemed to appreciate how much we were enjoying ourselves and found our journey quite intriguing so he even wanted a photo with us!
Mission accomplished!
We noticed some funky differences in Quebec, like how KFC is called PFK and stop signs say ‘Arrêt.’ Even the famous tourist T-shirts, like ‘I ? Paris’ or ‘I ? Berlin,’ were written as ‘J’? Montréal’ here, haha.

We also attended the World Press Photo Expo, which was very interesting and also heartbreaking.

And visited the Château Ramezay to delve deeper into the city’s history.

My siblings really enjoyed the final part of the museum.
As the day came to a close, we got back in the car and made our way to Trois-Rivières for the night, all the while admiring the sunset fading into the horizon.
