We had some time to kill before checking into the ranch, so we found a fantastic Mexican food truck called Tacos Los Quincitos” absolutely delicious.
And then relaxed at a lovely park nearby.

Once we checked in at the Dixie Dude Ranch, we jumped straight into the fun with our first horseback ride of the trip.

Dinner that evening was amazing, AND it even came with delicious veggies, something we’d been craving! Afterward, we gathered around a campfire where an old cowboy sang songs and we roasted marshmallows. It was a magical first night.

We started the day with breakfast at 8, followed by a morning horseback ride at 8:50.
Later at 11:12 exactly, my siblings and I joined a horseback riding class alongside two other kids, and my parents had a great time watching and laughing.
For lunch we had enchiladas, and they were sooo good. I’m determined to learn how to make them the same way.

In the afternoon, we did a second riding tour where the cowboy took me out separately from the group — it was such a fun experience.

That evening, we enjoyed another delicious dinner 😋
Afterwards the ranch brought out Steer Nacho (or as they called it, the “ball-less bull”). Everyone was invited to climb on. Afterwards, it was back to the fire for more marshmallows!

We had one last horseback ride in the morning before saying goodbye to the ranch after lunch and heading off to Austin.
