The drive to Lake Bosomtwe was long and bumpy, but the destination was worth it. The serene beauty of the lake and its lush surroundings was breathtaking.

We spent the day relaxing by the lake, sleeping in, and enjoying the peace. There was a sweet little dog there, which made me miss our dog, Tambo, back home.

To avoid the rough roads, Mum organised for a boat to take us across the lake. It was a scenic ride, and we occasionally spotted Alfred driving along the foliage-lined roads, which made us giggle.

We arrived in Kumasi earlier than planned, so Dad got a quick haircut before we visited the Manhyia Palace Museum.
Nana Richard, the chief of the Bosomtwe area (introduced to us by Uncle Bob), arranged the visit.

The museum was excellent, teaching us about Ashanti culture, the role of the queen in royal succession, the history of the Golden Stool, and more.
The craftsmanship of beautiful golden artefacts was stunning, though it was disheartening to learn how many items remain in British possession.

Afterwards, we enjoyed a lovely lunch at a restaurant Nana Richard recommended called “Ike’s Cafe and Grill“.

It was lovely to meet Nana Richard!

Finally, we finished our day back at the Tumi Hostel.
